Nate received his call to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. He opened his call letter in American Fork, Utah at his Grandpa and Grandma Blake's house. Many family and friends were there for this special event, with his immediate family watching and listening in Texas over the computer. He was called to the Germany Frankfurt Mission, and is to report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
